Samuel L. Evans
Samuel L. Evans, Founder of the American Foundation for Negro Affairs (AFNA), portrait bronze by Zenos Frudakis. Since its creation by Samuel L Evans, the non-profit organization AFNA has assisted thousands of African American students with educational scholarships for professional training in careers such as medicine, law and teaching. AFNA headquarters is in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This sculpture was exhibited at a National Sculpture Society Juried Annual Exhibition in New York City, where it won a special award. Mr. Evans came to the opening of this exhibition and proudly stood beside his sculpture bust.
